I don’t believe in depriving yourself when you get those cravings once in a while. I mean, you’re not supposed to indulge forever, but from time to time, it’s totally okay to treat yourself. Life is seriously too short to eat boring stuff and when you say always say no, it actually just makes you crave harder so you’re more likely to binge eat. Instead of living a sad life (lol), what I like to do is to look for healthier alternatives to things that we super love but aren’t so good for us.
Like sugar. I like getting my dessert on (especially when I know I deserve it lol), and there are desserts that are good for you, because they contain the healthy kind of sugar from fruits and not those refined ones that give you a sugar crash. When I feel like eating a gallon of ice cream all by myself (we all have those days naman), I use this recipe to make “ice cream” based on yogurt and fruits. It takes care of my cravings, and I don’t feel gross after! Haha.
Good-for-You Yogurt Pops
WHAT YOU NEED:
– 1 cup plain yogurt
– 3/4 cup coconut cream
– 1 large mango
– 1/4 cup honey
– dried coconut or glampop sprinkles to garnish
HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Mash the mango.
2. Mix yogurt, coconut cream, and honey in a bowl. Sweeten as needed.
3. Put the mix in a popsicle container or ice cube trays or ice candy plastics. Start with the yogurt + coconut cream + honey mix first. Then put the mashed mango. Alternate.
4. Garnish with dried coconut or glampop sprinkles. (If you’re using the sprinkles, put a little in the popsicle container/ice cube tray/ice candy plastic first before you put the mix or the mashed mango. It looks nicer like that. Lol) Et voilà!
